As I write this, Tiger Woods is six strokes down in the Masters, and has only three holes left to make it up. But we know he's the best golfer, and he's won the really important holes, and Trevor Immelman has no chance at the Grand Slam, and a Tiger win will bring that much more interest to the sport, so I think he should just play on and on into the night (through Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, and Indiana, and so on). Eventually, they'll have to give him the green jacket, just for persistence.

At the risk of sounding like I'm completely missing your point, I was listening to some idiotic ESPN guys talking today as if there is no reason to even look in on the PGA tour for the rest of the year simply because Tiger didn't win the Masters.
I bet Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus are glad they didn't play during this super-hype era.
